Snoop Out Your Motivation !!

A Simple Hack to Stay Excited in Your Learning Journey!

If you’ve stumbled upon this article, chances are you’re feeling stuck in your learning journey. Probably like the man in the image below.

Like me, you might sometimes find yourself easily discouraged when faced with lengthy learning videos that can’t be skipped. (trust me we’ve all been there!) But you know what’s worse? what is worse is knowing skipping them will only come back to haunt you when you’re given a problem to practice.

So, here’s an article dedicated to all you impatient folks out there — just like me.

Let me share something with you. It’s a simple trick, just one line, one word, and one statement that might make you think I’m crazy. But hey, hold on! It has worked wonders for me in my learning journey, and I can’t help but want to share this hack. After all, who doesn’t want to have some fun together, right?

Now, let’s get serious. Pay close attention to the following line:

START SNOOPING!

Yes, you read it right.

I’m talking about snooping into your future tasks within the course and discovering what awaits you if you keep going! It might sound like a wild idea, but believe me, it works. And you know why? Because it taps into psychology! You’re essentially tricking your mind into getting excited and re-energized, just like when you first started the course.

This psychological technique is commonly known as “future projection” or “future self-visualization.” It involves imagining or visualizing your future accomplishments, experiences, or outcomes to ignite motivation and excitement in the present.

By envisioning yourself completing the course or achieving your goals in the tech-related field, you can connect with the positive emotions associated with those future outcomes. This can serve as a powerful motivator to help you stay focused, overcome challenges, and maintain enthusiasm throughout your learning journey.

It’s crucial to remember that while future projection can be a valuable psychological tool, it’s equally important to balance it with present-moment awareness and practical steps toward your goals.

Let me paint a picture for you:

Imagine you start a course with boundless enthusiasm and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. In your mind’s eye, you’re probably shouting, “Give me your best shot!” and “I’ll devour you inside out!” You’re brimming with energy. But then, a few days or weeks into the course, you hit a wall. Burnout sets in, and your motivation fades away.

Where did all that energy go?

If we were to apply what I call the “snoop law,” we would intentionally explore the future projects or tasks provided by the course curriculum. Your goal would be to find the most captivating one. Let’s say you’re currently learning about variables in Python, and as you snoop ahead, you come across a project that involves building your own bot. Instantly, your first reaction is, “Let’s do this!” Suddenly, that initial surge of energy returns!

I hope you’ve gained some valuable insights from this article! The next time that course frustrates you, remember to snoop right into it!
